Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state, and county prosecutors often choose to drop or reduce them. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless later proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
HOME BURGLARY
Between Sept. 21 and Sept. 25, someone forced open the door to a home in the 500 block of Dundee Road and ransacked it, stealing an unknown amount of items, while its residents were out of town.
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been parked in the driveway of a home in the 500 block of Sunset Lane between 11 p.m. Aug. 14 and 8 a.m. Aug. 15.

RESTAURANT BAN
A person who knocked over a display at the Subway, 79 Green Bay Road, shortly before 1 p.m. on Aug. 21 has been issued a no-trespassing order banning them from returning to the restaurant.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLES
Police were called to the 1100 block of Longmeadow Lane for a report of three cars speeding down the road with no headlights. Officers found tire tracks through nearby yards but were unable to find the cars.

STOLEN CAR CRASH
Around 4 a.m. on Aug. 24, a group of about 10 people tried to steal a 2018 Subaru Outback but fled when a resident called out to them. Officers spotted three cars fleeing the area south on the Edens Expressway. Wilmette police encountered one of them crashed near the Touhy Exit ramp, and Glencoe police later learned that two cars, including the crashed one, had been stolen from Glencoe. Read more…
SCAM INTERRUPTED
On the morning of Aug. 27, officers interrupted a phone scam in progress on Elm Ridge Drive, where callers were trying to get a resident to provide gift card information.
STOLEN BIKE
An unlocked Cannondale bicycle with flat tires was stolen from near the tennis courts at Central School, 620 Greenwood Ave., on Aug. 24 or Aug. 25.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Stolen stole a $2,000 tire cover from a car parked in the 900 block of Forest Avenue between Aug. 27 and Aug. 30.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Between Sept. 2 and Sept. 4, someone damaged a window of a home in the 500 block of Dundee Road, causing about $800 in damage.
PHONE SCAM
A Ravine Glade Street resident reported on Sept. 27 that someone claiming to be a ComEd representative had scammed them out of paying $250 over the electronic payment service Zelle by threatening to turn off their power.
THEFT
Around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 29, a resident in the 500 block of Longwood Avenue reported that someone stole their garbage can at some point.
SHOPLIFTING
An employee of Grand Foods, 431 Hazel Ave., reported on the morning of Oct. 1 that someone had stolen $10 worth of food but located and returned. The thief was not charged but was issued a no-trespassing notice banning them from the store.
PACKAGE THEFT
Around noon on Oct. 1, someone stole a package containing a $265 suitcase that had been left near the front door of a home in the 400 block of Westley Road. Police said an unidentified suspect wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants was seen walking west toward Hohfelder Road.
GARAGE BURGLARY
Someone stole two bikes worth $1,150 from an open garage in the 200 block of Randolph Street between Sept. 30 and Oct. 3.
RUSE HOME BURGLARIES
- Around 4 p.m. on Aug. 13, a resident in the 100 block of Glenwood Avenue reported that a man in his 20s who arrived in a gray SUV had just distracted them by asking questions about a property line while his accomplices burglarized the home, ransacking its bedroom and stealing and unknown amount of jewelry.
- A man who appeared to be about 30 years old showed up at a home in the 700 block of Strawberry Hill Drive and distracted the resident by asking about trees near the property line. Unidentified burglars got into the home and ransacked its bedrooms, stealing an unknown amount of items.
FLEEING AND ELUDING
- Around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, officers tried to stop a 2020 Chevrolet Express that had been reported stolen but it fled the scene.
- A 2010 Mercury Mariner with expired registration fled an attempted traffic stop around 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the 100 block of Green Bay Road.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone smashed a window of a car parked at the Skokie Country Club, 500 Washington Ave., between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 17.
- A car parked at the Lake Shore Country Club, 1255 Sheridan Road, was burglarized after a person broke a window between 1 and 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 17, causing $300 in damage and stealing $100 worth of property.
- Around 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 6, witnesses described seeing a silver SUV back into the service garage at Autohaus on Edens, 1600 Frontage Road, and enter two cars parked inside. They fled in the SUV before officers arrived.
- Between about 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Oct. 2, car burglaries were reported in the 600 block of Country Lane, the 300 block of Bluff Street and the 700 block of Redwood Lane. Some coins were reported stolen from one of them. Two packages were taken from another and later recovered by neighbors.
IDENTITY THEFTS
- A Wentworth Avenue resident reported on Aug. 7 that someone had used their identity to rent a storage unit in another state.
- On Aug. 12, a Bluff Street resident reported someone opened multiple credit accounts using their identity.
- An Oak Drive resident reported on Aug. 20 that someone had used their identity to open fraudulent credit accounts.
- Someone used the identity of a Clover Lane resident to open a credit card account on Aug. 26.
- On Aug. 27, someone opened an unauthorized bank account using the identity of a Dundee Road resident.
- A Terrace Court resident reported on Aug. 31 that someone had written a bogus check for nearly $7,500 against their bank account.
- A Jackson Avenue resident reported that someone used their identity to open an unauthorized accounts around noon on Sept. 15.
- An Oakdale Avenue resident reported around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 that they learned from a bank statement that someone had opened an unauthorized account using their identity.
ARRESTS
John Williford, 50, of the 1200 block of South Central Avenue, Rockford, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 8 following a traffic stop in the 200 block of Franklin Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked license and possession of cannabis. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Corin Wiggins, 21, of the 1600 block of Sarsfield Avenue in Camden, South Carolina, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Grand Foods, 341 Hazel Ave., and charged with retail theft after she was accused of stealing $50 worth of items.
Paul Altmann, 51, of the 1300 block of Chicago Avenue in Pell Lake, Wisconsin, was arrested around 11 a.m. on Aug. 11 on an active arrest warrant. He was also charged with driving with a suspended license and issued citations for operating a vehicle with suspended and expired registration.
Diana M. Garcia, 46, of the 8800 block of Kenton Avenue was arrested around 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 20 and charged with possession of a fictitious driver’s license and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near Dundee Road and the Edens Expressway. She was also issued citations for driving while using an electronic communications device and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Petra Tsimberov, 24, of the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue, was arrested around 9 p.m. on Sept. 1 in the 300 block of Dundee Road on a bond forfeiture warrant.
Steven Burry, 54, of the 100 block of Rogers Williams Ave., Highland Park, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 11 after police were called to the 100 block of Green Bay Road for a report of people fighting.
Lenny Lebovich, 48, of the 600 block of Vernon Ave., Glencoe, was arrested around 5 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Green Bay Road and Temple Court on a $125,000 cash civil warrant following a traffic stop for a minor traffic infraction.
Margarito Luna Flores, 48, of the 5300 block of Argyle Street, Chicago, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 2 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop. He was also issued citations for speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol.
INCIDENTS
SHOPLIFTING ATTEMPT
Staff at the Mariano’s, 1822 Willow Road, reported that a man tried to steal about $715 worth of merchandise around 4:40 p.m. on Aug. 10 but left the store when confronted by management.
THEFT
A Northbrook resident reported on Aug. 18 that their purse was stolen at an unknown location and someone racked up nearly $900 in fraudulent charges on their card.
FAKE COPS
On the morning of Aug. 23, police learned of suspicious calls from a person claiming to be an officer from the Northfield Police Department’s Warrants and Citations Division regarding a purported outstanding fine or fee. The caller would ask people to call back another number to handle it, warning residents they would be subject to arrest if they did not. Police said they were unaware of anyone yet falling victim to the scam.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 200 block of Latrobe Avenue reported around 11 a.m. on Aug. 29 that they had provided a caller with their personally identifying information but had yet to notice any compromised accounts.
SHOPLIFTING
Staff at the Mariano’s, 1822 Willow Road, reported around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 that someone had just stolen several unspecified items of unknown value.
SCAM
The owner of an unspecified business in the 1600 block of Willow Road reported on Sept. 12 that someone had tried to transfer about $60,000 from their business account.
CARJACKED CAR CRASHES
Around 1 a.m. on Sept. 16, police were called to the 1500 block of Harding Road for a report that someone had gotten into a locked car. Officers from Northfield, Wilmette and Winnetka checked the area and spotted several people in the 300 block of Lagoon Drive who appeared to be trying to burglarize cars. When they spotted police, they ran into nearby parked vehicles, which sped from police south onto the Edens Expressway. Officers learned those cars had been involved in a carjacking in another town. Officers discontinued the pursuit due to the dangerous speeds the offenders were going before they were intercepted by state police. One of the cars pursued by Illinois State Police crashed, and one person under 18 was subsequently taken into custody. Northfield police learned several vehicles were burglarized, including unlocked cars parked in driveways in the 1600 block of Elder Lane and the 300 block of Lagoon Drive.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 1700 block of Northfield Square reported on Sept. 23 that someone damaged their car while it was parked outside during the prior week.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone burglarized a tow truck parked at at gas station in the 400 block of Sunset Ridge Road at some point prior to Sept. 26. A work tool was missing from inside for a loss of $500, but it was not known how the burglar gained entry.
ANTISEMITIC MATERIALS
A resident in the 100 block of Avon Avenue reported finding plastic bags containing antisemitic propaganda in a parkway. Officers reviewed the materials and determined they contained no threats.
FORGERY
A Fox Meadow Lane resident reported on Sept. 30 that someone may have intercepted their mail and forged one or more checks for a loss of about $15,000.
HOME BURGLARIES
- A resident in the 1700 block of Colonial Lane reported that someone had pried open the rear sliding door and burglarized their home, stealing several items worth at least $1,700.
- Someone broke into a home in the 200 block of Sunset Drive by prying open a door on or before Sept. 10. At least $15,000 worth of items, including firearms, money, documents and other property was reported stolen.
- A resident in the 200 block of Wagner Road reported on Sept. 24 that someone had burglarized their home between noon and 1:40 p.m. that day. Officers determined that someone forced open an exterior patio door and pried open a door to the interior before ransacking the interior.
- Someone broke into a home in the 200 block of South Happ Road prior to Sept. 24. It was not known if anything was stolen.
STOLEN CARS
- Someone stole a possibly unlocked car from a driveway in the 1600 block of Mount Pleasant Street during the night of July 31 or morning of Aug. 1.
- A security company called police shortly after midnight on the morning of Aug. 9 to report three unidentified people at the Fields Volvo, 770 Frontage Road. Officers later learned that burglars had gotten in through an unlocked service bay door and stole two Volvos, both of which were later found in Chicago
- A resident in the 1600 block of Mount Pleasant Street reported around 6 p.m. on Aug. 14 that someone stole their car from their driveway before it was recovered a few hours later in Winnetka.
- Staff at the Fields BMW dealership, 700 Frontage Road, reported around noon on Sept. 6 that three people had pulled into an open service bay and stole a customer’s car while it was being serviced, fleeing the area at high speeds before police arrived.
STOLEN CATALYTIC CONVERTERS
- A resident in the 1700 block of Mount Pleasant Street reported around 5 p.m. on Aug. 11 that someone had stolen a catalytic converter from their car during the previous night for a $3,000 loss.
- A resident in the 1700 block of Northfield Square reported around 7:45 a.m. on Aug. 22 that someone had stolen the catalytic converter from a car parked outside.
ARRESTS
Naquan Strickland, 18, of the 8000 block of South Vernon Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around noon on Sept. 27 and charged with felony theft in connection with an investigation into a car reported stolen on July 12 and recovered the same day. In addition to Strickland, police obtained an arrest warrant for another person they say was involved in the theft.
David L. Meyer, 52, of the 1800 block of Old Willow Road, Northfield, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 27 and issued a citation for disorderly conduct near Old Willow Road and Willowview Terrace in connection with an investigation into a heated dispute with another person.
Monika Herrera, 31, of the 5200 block of School Street, Chicago, was arrested around 4:30 am. on Oct. 2 in the 200 block of Waukegan Road and charged with driving under the influence. She was also cited for improper parking.

LANDLORD SCAM
A resident in the 800 block of Forest Glen Drive reported that a scammer claiming to be a property manager had scammed them out of more than $5,000 by asking the resident to wire funds for a deposit and rent.
EGGING
Someone caused an unknown amount of damage to a Porsche by pelting it with eggs between 6 p.m. Aug. 17 and 6:15 a.m. Aug. 18.
SHOPLIFTING
Someone stole nearly $650 worth of alcohol and gift bags from the Walgreens, 925 Green Bay Road, prior to 2 p.m. Aug. 18.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone broke into the 7-Eleven at 88 Green Bay Road between 4 and 5 a.m. on Sept. 15, stealing an unknown amount of electronic cigarettes and over-the-counter medicine from inside.
FLAG THEFT
Someone stole an American flag from the front porch of a home in the 800 block of Glen Oak Drive between 4 p.m. Sept. 9 and 4 p.m. Sept. 17 for a loss of $100.
HOME BURGLARY
- Someone burglarized a home in the 800 block of Hibbard Road between 11:50 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Aug. 22, stealing an unknown amount of jewelry from inside.
- A resident in the 1300 block of Trapp Lane reported someone broke at some point prior to 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 and stolen an unknown amount of items.
STOLEN CARS
- Someone stole a locked BMW SUV from a driveway in the 1300 block of Westmoor Terrace between 7 p.m. Aug. 4 and 8 a.m. Aug. 5. The car was later found in Evanston.
- On Aug. 14, someone stole an unlocked GMC SUV that from a driveway in the 1100 block of Oak Street.
FORGERY
- A Euclid Avenue resident reported on Sept. 1 that someone had used their checking account information to forge more than $5,000 in checks cashed between Jan. 4 and Jan. 14.
- A Sheridan Road resident reported on Sept. 23 that someone had altered a previously mailed check and cashed it between Sept. 14 and Sept. 15 for a $4,500 loss.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- Someone caused $1,000 in damage to wet concrete in the 1100 block of Merrill Street between 2 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10 a.m. Aug. 10.
- A village employee discovered someone had caused $2,000 in damage to a metal fence in the 1000 block of Sheridan Road at some point prior to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 11.
- Someone damaged a street sign at Sunset Road and Birch Street, causing $135 in damage, at some point prior to 1:45 p.m. Sept. 6.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
- Someone defaced an electrical box near the intersection of Tower Court and Gage Street, causing $250 in damage at some point prior to noon on Aug. 11.
- An officer discovered graffiti had been spray painted on a concrete wall and a trash can in the 700 block of Green Bay Trail between July 13 and Aug. 26 for a loss of about $675.
- Someone damaged a garbage container in the 100 block of Northwestern Drive between Aug. 30 and Sept. 13, causing $100 in damage.
- Someone spray painted utility boxes in the 900 block of Old Green Bay Road and the 900 block of Tower Road between noon on Sept. 23 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 28 for a combined loss of $750.
- A village-owned sign in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue was spray painted between Sept. 24 and Sept. 28 for a $120 loss.
IDENTITY THEFTS
- A Fuller Lane resident reported that someone used their identity to make a $40 unauthorized purchase using their credit card on or before Aug. 19.
- Someone used the identity of a Green Bay Road resident to obtain a debit card and transfer more than $5,000 from it between July 5 and Aug. 2, police were told a month later.
- A Sunset Road resident reported on Sept. 11 that someone had used their identity to open credit cards with Lowe’s and Home Depot at some point after Aug. 31.
- A Willow Road resident reported that someone had opened four credit cards using their identity on Sept. 13.
- Someone made more than $3,000 in unauthorized purchases using an American Express card belonging to a Hamptondale Avenue resident on or before Sept. 16.
- A Merrill Street resident reported on Sept. 16 that someone had used their identity to open an unauthorized Bank of America account.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone got into an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 1300 block of Sunview Lane between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 5, but nothing was reported stolen from inside.
- Between 3 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 5, someone stole an iPad, wallet a credit card and cash from a car parked in the 1200 block of Westmoor Terrace for a loss of $2,660.
- A resident in the 400 block of Glendale Avenue reported that someone burglarized a locked car in their driveway between 9 p.m. Aug. 4 and noon on Aug. 5.
- A pair of unlocked cars parked in the 1200 block of Spruce Street were burglarized between 8 p.m. Aug. 4 and 1:45 p.m. Aug. 5. Nothing was reported stolen.
- Someone burglarized a locked car in the 1300 block of Westmoor Terrace between 2 p.m. Aug. 4 and 8:20 a.m. Aug. 5. Nothing was reported stolen.
- Between 4:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and 4 p.m. Aug. 5, someone got into an unlocked car parked in the 1300 block of Sunview Lane, but nothing was reported stolen.
- A resident in the 1100 block of Oak Street reported that someone burglarized a locked car in an alley between 6 p.m. Aug. 4 and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 5.
- Someone burglarized an unlocked Honda minivan and a Mercedes sedan in the 1100 block of Oak Street between 8 p.m. Aug. 13 and noon on Aug. 14, stealing sunglasses and a manual from inside.
- Between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 15, someone burglarized a Lexus sedan, but nothing was reported stolen.
- Someone burglarized an unlocked Infiniti SUV parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Berkeley Avenue between 10 p.m. Aug. 14 and 7 a.m. Aug. 15.
- A resident in the 400 block of Berkeley Avenue reported that someone burglarized an unlocked Subaru station wagon parked in a driveway.
- Around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 16, someone burglarized an unlocked Audi SUV parked in the 300 block of Linden Street but did not steal anything.
- Between 11 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6 a.m. Aug. 16, an unlocked Ford SUV in a driveway in the 100 block of Birch Street was burglarized but nothing was reported stolen.
- Someone stole a credit card and sunglasses worth $400 from a pair of unlocked SUVs parked in the 1400 block of Asbury Avenue between 9 p.m. Aug. 14 and 7 a.m. Aug. 15.
- Between 9 a.m. Aug. 11 and 8 a.m. Aug. 26, someone burglarized two unlocked cars parked in a driveway in the 900 block of Spruce Street.
- Someone burglarized an unlocked Lexus parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Ash Street. Nothing was reported stolen from inside.
- Shortly before 6 a.m. on Oct. 2, someone burglarized an unlocked Subaru and Volvo parked in the 300 block of Rosewood Avenue, but nothing was reported stolen in the incident. Another resident of the block reported their unlocked Cadillac SUV had also been burglarized that morning.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Tyler Scott Foreman, 32, of the 2300 block of Cassopolis Street in Elkhart, Indiana, was arrested around 5 p.m. on Aug. 6 in the 700 block of Sheridan Road and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked license, endangering the life of a child and leaving the scene of a crash. He was also cited for driving an uninsured motor vehicle and processed on an out-of-state warrant.
Eduardo Martinez Leon, 26, of the 17800 block of West Cheyenne Court, Grayslake, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 13 near the intersection of Hibbard and Illinois roads in Wilmette and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for improper lane usage.
Brandon S. Meardon, 45, of the 600 block of Green Bay Road, Wilmette, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. He was also issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Carrie M. Wilson, 47, of the 100 block of Woodley Road, Winnetka, was arrested around 10 p.m. Aug. 18 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Rocendo Carlos Ramos Jimenez, 25, of the 800 block of Elm Street, Winnetka, was arrested around 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 19 in the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue and charged with domestic battery.
Agustin Garcia Jr., 38, of the 3000 block of North Troy Street, Chicago, was arrested around 4 a.m. on Aug. 23 and charged with driving under the influence of alohol following a traffic stop near Hibbard and Willow roads. He was also issued citations for improper turn, speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal transportation of cannabis.
Torrence K. Lindsey-Bynum, 31, of the 5700 block of Hemlock Avenue in Gary, Indiana, was arrested around 4:46 p.m. on Aug. 27 and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of cannabis following an encounter with police near the intersection of Warwick Road and Winnetka Avenue. ‘
Anthony C. Patterson, 30, of the 100 block of Callan Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 5:15 a.m. on Aug. 30 and charged with unlawful use of a firearm following a traffic stop in the 300 block of Provident Avenue. Officers also issued him citations for speeding and cannabis possession.
Brian Flores, 22, of the 6500 block of North Artesian Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5 a.m. on Sept. 13 in the 400 block of Willow Road and charged with unlawful use of a firearm. Officers also issued him a citation for speeding.
Sheah Brown, 26, of the 5900 block of Woodgate Drive, Matteson, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following an encounter with police near the intersection of Willow and Green Bay roads. He was also issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver, unlawful possession of cannabis and improper parking on the roadway.
